Deconstructing Survival Thinking as a Soulpreneur
And Why Reconnection Is the First Step Toward Expansion
Dear Reader,
When I work with people on unlocking their creative potential and building more self-empowerment toward intentional decision-making, it naturally attracts opportunities that align with their ideal lifestyle.
We cannot fully thrive while locked in survival thinking. We can hustle. We can perform. But true expansion? That requires remembering something deeper.
Survival thinking isn’t just a mindset—it’s a system. One shaped by trauma, social conditions, capitalism, colonialism, and the environments we've adapted to survive in.
We are constantly adapting to survive, yet few experience depth of living without the constant survival energy.
And while it may have protected us at one point, it cannot carry us into the vision we’re here to manifest.
This post shares a glimpse into how I help others disrupt survival-based patterns and how you can begin cultivating more awareness—right now—by reconnecting to the Earth, your body, your past bodily or psyche memories, and your relationships.
What Is Survival Thinking (vs. Actual Survival)?
Survival thinking is the residue of being in prolonged states of lack, fear, or urgency—when those conditions no longer serve us.
I approach this work through three interconnected systems:
Mind: thoughts, narratives, conditioned beliefs
Body: nervous system responses, physical exhaustion, somatic memories
Spirit: your intuitive core, emotional intelligence, soul knowing, and spiritual inheritance
These systems are shaped by more than our inner world—they are also shaped by our relationship to land, place, community, and history. You cannot deconstruct survival thinking without understanding how your environmental, cultural, and relational landscapes impact your sense of safety, trust, and possibility.---Survival Thinking in the Soulpreneur Journey
As a soulpreneur—someone building with purpose + impact —you rely on creative energy to lead. But survival mode hijacks creativity. It pulls you into reaction, burnout, overthinking, and grasping.
Survival thinking shows up as:
Saying yes out of fear of missing out
Creating from urgency or external pressure
Distrusting rest, spaciousness, or divine timing
Disconnection from your body or your community
And it disconnects you from the Earth. You may forget to feel the soil beneath your feet, to slow down and sync with seasonal rhythms, or to recognize that your creativity is meant to be in relationship—with people, place, and purpose.
